## About Watercolor Interiors

Watercolor Interiors is an interior design and fit-out company committed to creating distinctive, functional, and beautifully executed spaces. We are looking for a detail-oriented Accountant to manage day-to-day financial activities and support the financial control of our projects and operations.

## Role Summary

The Accountant will maintain accurate financial records, manage accounts payable and receivable, support project-cost tracking, and help ensure timely reporting and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate is organized, reliable, comfortable working with multiple projects, and experienced in accounting within an interior design, construction, fit-out, or project-based business.

## Key Responsibilities

- Record and maintain daily financial transactions in the accounting system.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable, including invoices, payments, collections, and supplier reconciliations.
- Prepare customer invoices based on contracts, project milestones, and approved variations.
- Monitor project budgets, costs, commitments, billings, and profitability.
- Track purchase orders, subcontractor payments, petty cash, staff expenses, and advances.
- Reconcile bank accounts, supplier statements, customer accounts, and general ledger balances.
- Maintain accurate records of fixed assets, accruals, prepayments, and inventory, where applicable.
- Assist with monthly and year-end closing activities.
- Prepare management reports, cash-flow updates, ageing reports, and other financial analyses.
- Support payroll processing and maintain related accounting records.
- Assist with VAT and other statutory filings in accordance with local regulations.
- Coordinate with auditors, banks, tax advisers, suppliers, clients, and internal teams when required.
- Maintain well-organized financial documents and ensure compliance with company policies and approval procedures.
- Identify discrepancies, follow up on outstanding items, and recommend improvements to accounting processes.

## Qualifications and Experience

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- At least 2–4 years of relevant accounting experience.
- Experience in interior design, fit-out, construction, contracting, or another project-based industry is preferred.
- Good understanding of general accounting principles, financial reporting, and account reconciliation.
- Practical knowledge of VAT and applicable local financial regulations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software; experience with systems such as QuickBooks, Zoho Books, Tally, or similar platforms is an advantage.
- Professional accounting qualifications or progress toward ACCA, CMA, CPA, or an equivalent certification is an advantage.
