Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to manage and oversee all financial aspects of our supermarket operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reports, managing budgets, handling supplier payments, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and local regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

Record and reconcile daily sales, expenses, and cash transactions.

Manage accounts payable and receivable, including supplier invoices and customer accounts.

Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.

Monitor inventory valuation and coordinate with the store and warehouse teams for stock audits.

Prepare and process payroll, ensuring compliance with labor and tax laws.

File VAT and other statutory returns accurately and on time.

Develop and maintain internal financial controls and accounting policies.

Manage bank reconciliations, petty cash, and daily cash flow.

Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.

Coordinate with auditors, tax authorities, and other external stakeholders.

Provide management with insights and recommendations for cost control and profit improvement.

Qualifications and Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Minimum 3–5 years of accounting experience (supermarket or retail sector preferred).

Strong knowledge of accounting principles, VAT, and financial reporting.

Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Tally, Odoo, or similar).

Advanced MS Excel and data analysis skills.

Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

Ability to work independently and handle multiple priorities.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Experience in inventory management systems.

Familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) and ERP systems.

Knowledge of cost analysis and margin optimization in retail.
