OVERVIEW:

Marine Inspector is responsibale to ensure the safety of vessels and their crews by conducting on-site inspections of vessels, equipment, and crew qualifications. Also, the inspector is concerned in Verifing vessel documentation and licenses are current and valid. Enforce all applicable laws, regulations, and standards that relate to the safe operation and design of vessels.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Ensure the safety of vessels and their crews by conducting on-site inspections of vessels, equipment, and crew qualifications.
• Verify vessel documentation and licenses are current and valid.
• Enforce all applicable laws, regulations, and standards that relate to the safe operation and design of vessels.
• Investigate accidents and environmental incidents involving vessels.
• Prepare detailed reports of inspection findings and recommendations for corrective action.
• Monitor vessel construction projects to verify compliance with applicable regulations and standards.
• Train vessel personnel on safety procedures and regulations.
• Monitor environmental effects of vessels and recommend appropriate changes to operations or design.
• Work with vessel owners and operators to ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
• Provide technical advice to vessel owners and operators on safety issues.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

• Degree in marine engineering or a related field
• knowledge of maritime regulations
• Mental and physical capability is required to carry out the tasks required for inspecting a vessel.
• Knowledge of maritime laws, regulations, and standards
• Knowledge of vessel design, construction, and operation
• Understanding of safety management systems and safety protocols
• Ability to inspect vessels for compliance with applicable standards
• Ability to assess risk factors associated with vessel operations
• Understanding of maritime industry practices
• Knowledge of hazardous material regulations and management
• Ability to use shipboard navigation systems and equipment
• Ability to use inspection tools and technology
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to analyze complex data and draw conclusions
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Ability to think quickly and make decisions in a timely manner.
