Job Description

We are looking for an experienced QS Engineer (Quantity Surveyor) with strong knowledge of construction projects, quantity surveying, cost control, and commercial management to join our team in Bahrain.

The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in construction quantity take-offs, BOQ preparation, variations, subcontractor evaluation, project cost monitoring, and payment certification.

Key Responsibilities
Prepare and review BOQs, quantity take-offs, cost estimates, and cost plans.
Measure quantities from architectural, structural, and MEP drawings.
Review drawings, specifications, and project documents to identify scope and quantities.
Prepare and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations.
Monitor project costs, budgets, and material expenditures.
Prepare and evaluate variations, change orders, and additional works.
Prepare interim payment applications and valuations.
Assist with subcontract administration and commercial documentation.
Monitor project progress and compare actual costs against budgets.
Prepare monthly cost reports, forecasts, and cost reconciliation statements.
Assist with preparation and settlement of final accounts and claims.
Coordinate with project managers, engineers, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers.
Maintain accurate records of quantities, costs, variations, and contractual documentation.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree/Diploma in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
3+ years of experience in Quantity Surveying within the construction industry.
Strong knowledge of building construction and construction cost management.
Good understanding of BOQ preparation, quantity take-off, measurement, and valuation.
Experience with variations, claims, interim payments, and final accounts.
Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and MEP drawings.
Good knowledge of construction materials, labor costs, and subcontractor pricing.
Strong knowledge of MS Excel and quantity surveying/cost management software.
Excellent analytical, negotiation, communication, and organizational skills.
Must be currently available in Bahrain.
Immediate joiners are strongly preferred.
Important

Candidates with a strong construction background and hands-on experience in quantity surveying will be given priority. Experience should preferably include commercial and cost-related activities on active construction projects.
