Job Description

ERA Projects is looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor with a strong background in construction and contracting projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for quantity take-offs, BOQ preparation, cost estimation, tendering, valuations, variations, cost control, and commercial documentation.

Key Responsibilities
Prepare accurate quantity take-offs, BOQs, and cost estimates for construction projects.
Review architectural, civil, structural, and MEP drawings and specifications.
Conduct site measurements and verify quantities against actual site progress.
Prepare tender and contract documentation.
Review and analyze subcontractor and supplier quotations.
Prepare comparative statements and assist with commercial evaluations.
Monitor project costs, budgets, commitments, and expenditures.
Prepare interim valuations, payment applications, and progress claims.
Evaluate and prepare variations, claims, and additional-cost submissions.
Assist with subcontractor management and commercial negotiations.
Prepare and maintain project final accounts.
Identify cost-saving and value-engineering opportunities.
Monitor material quantities and wastage.
Coordinate with Project Managers, Engineers, Procurement, Accounts, subcontractors, and suppliers.
Maintain accurate records of measurements, BOQs, contracts, variations, and commercial documents.
Support tender submissions and prequalification documentation.
Provide regular cost and commercial reports to management.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree/Diploma in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry.
Strong hands-on experience with building and civil construction projects.
Excellent knowledge of BOQ preparation, quantity take-offs, estimation, costing, valuations, variations, claims, and final accounts.
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
Strong understanding of construction materials, methods, and project costs.
Experience in tendering and subcontractor/supplier quotation evaluation.
Knowledge of FIDIC or other construction contracts is an advantage.
Proficiency in MS Excel, AutoCAD, and quantity surveying/estimating software.
Strong analytical, numerical, negotiation, and communication skills.
Bahrain/GCC construction experience is highly preferred.
Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines.
Must be currently located in Bahrain.
Must be available for immediate joining.
Candidates with cancelled/transferable visa or valid local status are preferred.

We are specifically looking for a construction-focused Quantity Surveyor with practical site and commercial experience.

The ideal candidate should be confident handling quantity take-offs, BOQs, estimation, tendering, valuations, variations, cost control, subcontractors, and final accounts. Candidates with only general administrative or office-based experience will not be considered.
