Description

Job title: Assistant Professor
Field/ Specialization: Community Medicine / Public Health
Roles and Responsibility:

1.Teaching and contributing to Community Medicine and Public Health components in the undergraduate medical curriculum, including the Public Health Program (Year 2), Maternal and Child Health Program (Year 3), Family Studies Program, and the Community Research Project (Years 3 and 4).

2.Supervising medical students in community research projects and guiding them from protocol development through to publication.

3.Conducting community- and population-oriented research aligned with public health priorities in the Kingdom of Bahrain and GCC countries, and publishing in indexed peer-reviewed journals.

4.Participating in departmental and college committees and contributing to faculty academic development activities.

5.Collaborating with the Ministry of Health, primary healthcare services, and regional and international partners (such as the World Health Organization) in education, training, and applied community-based research.

Qualifications:

1.PhD in Community Medicine, Public Health, Preventive Medicine, or an equivalent specialty.

2.Preferably holds a medical degree (MBBS / MD) and a Master of Public Health (MPH) or equivalent.

3.Documented experience in undergraduate medical teaching, preferably within problem-based, competency-based, or community-oriented curricula.

4.A record of scholarly publications in indexed peer-reviewed journals (Scopus / Web of Science) within the last five years.

5.Proficiency in English is required; proficiency in Arabic is an added advantage for teaching and community research.
