Description

The Chief Accountant is responsible for overseeing the company’s accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining compliance with regulations, and supporting strategic financial decisions. This role manages the accounting team and ensures the integrity of financial data.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee daily accounting operations including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and fixed assets
Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
Ensure compliance with accounting standards (e.g., IFRS/GAAP) and regulatory requirements
Manage budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes
Monitor cash flow, financial performance, and cost controls
Coordinate internal and external audits
Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets
Supervise and mentor accounting staff
Handle tax planning, filings, and liaise with tax authorities
Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior management

Qualifications & Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master’s preferred)
Professional certification (CPA, ACCA, CA, or equivalent) preferred
7–12+ years of accounting experience, with at least 3–5 years in a managerial role
Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and taxation
Experience with accounting software and ERP systems
Excellent analytical, leadership, and communication skills
High level of integrity and attention to detail
