Description

Responsibilities

Manage and supervise all civil and structural site activities to ensure execution aligns with approved drawings, technical specifications, and agreed project schedules.
Review IFC drawings, shop drawings, and construction details to verify technical accuracy, constructability, and compliance with design and contract requirements.
Oversee major construction operations including earthworks, foundations, reinforced concrete works, blockwork, architectural finishes, and external infrastructure.
Coordinate daily site operations with subcontractors, suppliers, and other engineering disciplines to ensure smooth sequencing of works.
Inspect formwork systems, reinforcement installation, concrete pouring, curing, and finishing activities to confirm compliance with approved standards and test requirements.
Ensure all materials, workmanship, and construction methods meet project specifications, quality standards, and recognized industry practices.
Monitor workforce productivity, equipment utilization, and construction progress against approved programs and key milestones.
Liaise with consultants, project managers, and client representatives for site inspections, approvals, and resolution of technical or coordination issues.
Prepare and submit daily site reports, inspection requests (IRs), site instructions, and other construction-related documentation.
Support the preparation, review, and approval of method statements, material submissions, permits, and technical proposals.
Identify technical challenges, site constraints, and potential schedule impacts, proposing practical and timely corrective solutions.
Ensure full compliance with project QA/QC systems and HSE requirements to maintain safe, controlled, and compliant site operations.
Coordinate with planning and quantity surveying teams to monitor quantities, productivity rates, material usage, and cost-related data.
Maintain accurate site records including construction progress, inspections, test results, and material consumption for reporting and audit purposes.
Promote teamwork, discipline, accountability, and continuous improvement among site engineers, supervisors, and subcontractor teams.

Qualifications and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized university.
6-10 years of proven experience managing civil and structural works on building and/or infrastructure projects.
Strong technical expertise in reinforced concrete construction, reinforcement detailing, formwork systems, finishing works, and general site practices.
Proficient in AutoCAD and MS Office, with working knowledge of project planning tools such as Primavera P6, MS Project, or equivalent.
Sound understanding of international codes and standards including ACI, BS, ASTM, and related specifications.
Excellent leadership, coordination, and communication skills with demonstrated ability to manage site teams effectively.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive, results-driven approach.
Good working knowledge of QA/QC systems, inspection procedures, and HSE compliance requirements.
Prior GCC project experience and possession of a valid driving license will be considered an added advantage.
