Reporting To: Technical/Operations Manager
Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Solar Procurement Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and managing the procurement of solar components, equipment, and services. This role requires strong knowledge of the solar industry, excellent negotiation skills, and the ability to manage vendor relationships to ensure cost-effective and timely procurement.
Key Responsibilities:
Vendor Management:
• Identify, evaluate, and onboard suppliers for solar panels, inverters, mounting structures, and other components.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure quality and reliability.
Procurement Operations:
• Prepare and manage purchase orders and contracts in accordance with company policies.
• Track and monitor inventory levels to anticipate procurement needs and avoid shortages.
• Ensure timely delivery of materials to meet project schedules.
Cost Optimization:
• Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers to achieve cost savings.
• Conduct market research to benchmark pricing and identify new sourcing opportunities.
Quality Assurance:
• Collaborate with technical teams to ensure procured materials meet project specifications and quality standards.
• Handle any discrepancies in delivery or quality issues with suppliers promptly.
Compliance & Documentation:
• Ensure all procurement activities comply with company and regulatory standards.
• Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and vendor performance.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
• Work closely with project management, engineering, and finance teams to align procurement strategies with project requirements.
• Provide regular updates on procurement status and address any potential delays.

Qualifications and Experience:
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years in procurement, preferably within the solar or renewable energy sector. Proven experience in vendor negotiations and contract management.
Skills and Competencies:
• Strong knowledge of solar components and market trends.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Proficiency in procurement software and ERP systems.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.
