Description

A carpentry workshop supervisor is a person who oversees and participates in the carpentry work done by a team of carpenters. They are responsible for ensuring safety and quality in the performance of assigned tasks, such as installing fixtures and apparatuses, repairing and replacing hardware, and making repairs and improvements to facilities. They also estimate and purchase tools, materials, equipment and supplies as necessary to complete the carpentry work. They may also coordinate and prioritize shop and field work, and supervise and train other carpenters.

Qualifications and responsibilities for a carpentry workshop supervisor are:

Education: A high school diploma or equivalent, and completion of a carpentry apprenticeship program or vocational training in carpentry.
Experience: Several years of experience as a carpenter, and some experience in supervising and managing carpentry projects and teams.
Skills: Knowledge of carpentry techniques, tools, materials, and safety standards. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications. Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate carpentry work. Ability to communicate effectively and work well with others. Ability to solve problems and make decisions. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Certifications: A valid driver’s license and a carpentry experience certificate.
