Purchasing / Inventory Manager Job Responsibilities:
Vendor Management:
Identify and evaluate potential suppliers and vendors.
Negotiate terms, conditions, and pricing agreements with suppliers.
Maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure timely deliveries and quality products.
Inventory Management:
Develop and implement inventory control procedures and policies.
Monitor and maintain optimal stock levels to prevent overstocking or stockouts.
Regularly assess inventory turnover rates and adjust procurement accordingly.
Implement systems for tracking and managing inventory levels efficiently.
Budgeting and Cost Control:
Create and manage budgets for purchasing and inventory expenses.
Identify cost-saving opportunities and strategies.
Control costs by optimizing the procurement process.
Quality Control:
Ensure the quality and reliability of products purchased.
Set and maintain quality standards for items in inventory.
Implement quality control processes and inspections as needed.
Forecasting:
Analyze market trends and demand patterns to forecast inventory needs.
Prepare accurate and reliable demand forecasts to avoid shortages or excess inventory.
