Description

Responsibilities
• Uses steel bars and mesh in reinforced concrete to strengthen buildings and other big structures.
• Sets out the work area, following Site Supervisor Engineer instructions against engineering plans
• Uses hand and power tools to cut and bend bars or mesh.
• Ties steel reinforcement bars (rebars) to build cages.
• Fits spacers and chairs (supports).
• Uses rebar to build special casts to keep setting concrete in place.
• Fixes steel to concrete bases.
• Installs beams and pre-cast slabs.
• Works closely with engineering designers, steel erectors and other construction workers on high rise buildings, on a variety of construction sites or on other structures.
• Performs ad-hoc duties as and when instructed by manager/ supervisor/ engineers.
Qualifications
• Able to work to technical plans and/ or advise.
• Comfortable working at height.
• Good level of physical fitness.
• Happy to work outdoors in all weathers and in cramped conditions.
• A minimum of 1-year experience in the same work within similar industry/ high rise buildings.
