Job Description

ERA Projects is looking for an experienced and responsible Safety Officer – Construction to ensure a safe and compliant working environment across our construction sites. The candidate will be responsible for monitoring site safety, identifying hazards, conducting inspections, implementing safety procedures, and promoting a strong safety culture among employees, subcontractors, and site teams.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct daily site safety inspections and identify unsafe conditions, activities, and potential hazards.
Ensure workers and subcontractors follow safety procedures and properly use required PPE.
Conduct toolbox talks, safety inductions, briefings, and safety awareness sessions.
Prepare and maintain Risk Assessments, JSA, Method Statements, checklists, and safety reports.
Monitor high-risk construction activities including work at height, scaffolding, lifting operations, excavation, hot works, electrical works, and confined spaces.
Monitor Permit to Work (PTW) requirements where applicable.
Inspect tools, equipment, machinery, access areas, scaffolding, and work areas for safety compliance.
Investigate accidents, incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions and recommend corrective actions.
Follow up on corrective and preventive actions until closure.
Maintain safety inspection records, training records, incident reports, permits, and other HSE documentation.
Coordinate with project engineers, supervisors, subcontractors, and workers regarding safety matters.
Ensure emergency procedures, fire prevention measures, and first-aid arrangements are maintained.
Immediately report serious safety violations and recommend appropriate corrective measures.
Ensure compliance with applicable Bahrain occupational safety requirements and company HSE procedures.
Requirements

Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
Minimum 2–3 years of experience as a Safety Officer/HSE Officer in the construction industry.
Construction site experience is required.
NEBOSH / IOSH / OSHA or equivalent safety certification is preferred.
Strong knowledge of construction safety practices and hazard identification.
Experience in Risk Assessment, JSA, toolbox talks, site inspections, and incident investigation.
Knowledge of PPE, PTW systems, working-at-height safety, scaffolding, lifting operations, excavation, and emergency procedures.
Good communication, reporting, documentation, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and coordinate effectively with site teams and subcontractors.
