Job summary

Almoayyed Solar is looking for a Civil Draftsman to prepare accurate, construction-ready drawings for solar PV projects (rooftop, ground-mounted and carport). You will work with engineers and the Sales and Projects teams, from tender and design stage through to as-built and handover.
Responsibilities
1. Prepare shop drawings, working drawings and layouts for installation crews, in line with approved designs and project specifications.
2. Produce civil and structural drawings for solar projects, including site layouts, mounting structure and roof layouts, foundation details, trenching and cable routes, fencing, roads and drainage.
3. Coordinate with engineers to obtain and verify design data, and identify and resolve discrepancies and clashes before drawings are issued.
4. Coordinate with the electrical draftsmen to keep drawing packages consistent and clash-free.
5. Update drawings per client and consultant comments, and maintain revision control, the drawing register and document numbering.
6. Support the preparation of technical submittals, including material approval documents and datasheets, so that they are complete and consistent with the drawings.
7. Assist in preparing compliance statements against project specifications and flag deviations to the engineer or Divisional Manager.
8. Carry out quantity take-offs and assist in preparing BOQs for project enquiries and tender technical proposals.
9. Support site surveys, verify site measurements and interpret survey data.
10. Prepare as-built drawings from site mark-ups and support handover documentation.
11. Maintain CAD standards, templates, block libraries and the drawing archive, with files backed up and retrievable.
12. Ensure drawings comply with applicable codes and local authority regulations.
13. Comply with company QMS procedures, health and safety requirements and confidentiality of project information, and perform other tasks assigned by the Division Head.

Qualifications and experience

• Diploma or certificate in Civil Engineering, Civil Drafting or a related field (a bachelor’s degree is an advantage).
• 3 to 5 years of civil drafting experience, preferably in solar, power, construction or infrastructure projects.
• GCC experience is preferred.

Skills
• Proficient in AutoCAD (essential); Civil 3D or Revit is an advantage.
• Working knowledge of MS Office.
• Ability to read engineering sketches and survey drawings accurately.
• Strong attention to detail, organization and time management.
• Good written and spoken English; Arabic is an advantage.
• Familiarity with PVsyst or PV layout tools is a plus.
