# Pastry Assistant

**Jena Bakery is looking for a hardworking and motivated Pastry Assistant to join our bakery team.**

The Pastry Assistant will support the Pastry Chef and bakery team with the daily preparation and production of cakes, pastries, desserts, and other bakery products while maintaining high standards of cleanliness, quality, and food safety.

### Key Responsibilities

* Assist the Pastry Chef with daily preparation and production of cakes, pastries, desserts, creams, fillings, and other bakery products.
* Measure and prepare ingredients according to recipes and instructions.
* Assist with mixing, baking, assembling, decorating, and finishing pastry products.
* Prepare ingredients and maintain proper stock levels in the pastry section.
* Assist with cake and dessert decoration when required.
* Follow recipes, portion sizes, and presentation standards accurately.
* Keep the pastry kitchen, equipment, utensils, and workstations clean and organized.
* Wash and sanitize equipment and utensils after use.
* Follow proper food safety, hygiene, and sanitation procedures at all times.
* Store ingredients and finished products properly and according to food-safety requirements.
* Help with receiving, checking, and organizing pastry ingredients and supplies.
* Minimize food wastage and use ingredients efficiently.
* Assist the Pastry Chef with daily opening and closing duties.
* Support the team during busy periods and help complete orders on time.
* Perform other pastry-kitchen duties assigned by the Pastry Chef or management.

### Requirements

* Previous experience in a bakery, pastry shop, hotel, restaurant, or similar environment is preferred.
* Basic knowledge of pastry and bakery preparation is an advantage.
* Willingness to learn and develop pastry-making skills.
* Good attention to detail and cleanliness.
* Able to follow recipes and instructions accurately.
* Able to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
* Team player with a positive and responsible attitude.
* Punctual, reliable, and hardworking.
* Physically able to stand for extended periods and perform kitchen duties.
