Job Description

We are looking for an experienced and responsible HSE Officer – Construction to monitor and maintain health, safety and environmental standards across construction sites. The candidate will be responsible for identifying site hazards, implementing safety procedures, conducting inspections and ensuring compliance with company, project and applicable Bahrain safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities
Implement and monitor the project HSE plan, policies and safety procedures at construction sites.
Conduct daily site safety inspections and identify unsafe acts, conditions and potential hazards.
Prepare and review Risk Assessments, Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and Method Statements.
Ensure safe working practices for work at height, excavation, scaffolding, lifting operations, electrical works and other construction activities.
Conduct safety inductions, toolbox talks and regular safety awareness training for workers and subcontractors.
Monitor proper use of PPE and ensure workers follow established safety procedures.
Monitor and control Permit to Work (PTW) requirements where applicable.
Inspect tools, equipment, machinery and work areas for safety compliance.
Investigate accidents, incidents and near misses and prepare appropriate reports and corrective action plans.
Maintain HSE records, inspection reports, training records, permits and other safety documentation.
Coordinate with project engineers, supervisors, subcontractors and management regarding safety matters.
Identify non-compliance and follow up on corrective and preventive actions.
Ensure adequate emergency procedures, fire prevention measures and first-aid arrangements are maintained.
Stop or report unsafe work activities and recommend appropriate corrective measures.
Prepare regular HSE reports and communicate safety observations and recommendations to management.
Requirements
Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering or a related field.
NEBOSH / IOSH / OSHA certification is preferred.
Minimum 2–3 years of HSE/Safety Officer experience in the construction industry.
Strong knowledge of construction site safety practices and hazard identification.
Experience in risk assessment, JSA, toolbox talks, site inspections and incident investigation.
Knowledge of PPE, PTW systems, emergency procedures and construction safety requirements.
Good communication, reporting and documentation skills.
Ability to work independently and effectively with site teams, workers and subcontractors.
Immediate joiner preferred.
Must be locally available in Bahrain.
