Job Description

We are looking for a Construction Safety Officer to monitor and maintain health and safety standards across construction sites. The successful candidate will ensure that workers, subcontractors, and site activities comply with company safety procedures and applicable health and safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities
Conduct daily site inspections and identify unsafe conditions, hazards, and work practices.
Ensure workers and subcontractors follow required safety procedures and properly use PPE.
Conduct toolbox talks, safety briefings, site orientations, and awareness sessions.
Prepare and maintain risk assessments, method statements, safety checklists, and inspection reports.
Monitor high-risk activities including working at height, lifting operations, excavation, scaffolding, electrical works, hot works, and confined spaces.
Investigate accidents, incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions and recommend corrective actions.
Monitor and follow up on corrective and preventive actions until closure.
Ensure construction equipment, tools, access areas, scaffolding, and work areas meet safety requirements.
Coordinate with project engineers, supervisors, subcontractors, and workers regarding safety matters.
Maintain proper records of safety inspections, training, incidents, permits, and corrective actions.
Assist in emergency preparedness and response procedures.
Promote a strong safety culture throughout the construction site.
Immediately report serious safety violations and recommend appropriate corrective measures.
Ensure compliance with applicable Bahrain requirements, company HSE procedures, and relevant industry safety standards.
Requirements
Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
Minimum 2–3 years of experience as a Safety Officer in the construction industry.
Construction site experience is required.
Knowledge of risk assessments, toolbox talks, incident reporting, and safety inspections.
Knowledge of PPE, working-at-height safety, scaffolding, lifting operations, excavation, and other construction safety practices.
NEBOSH / IOSH / OSHA or equivalent safety certification is preferred.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and coordinate effectively with site teams and subcontractors.
Good knowledge of safety documentation and reporting.
Candidates must be locally available in Bahrain.
Immediate joiners are preferred.

Good observation and problem-solving skills.
Ability to identify hazards and recommend practical corrective actions.
Good written and verbal English communication.
Ability to conduct safety inductions and toolbox talks.
