Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Cost Engineer – Construction to join our team in Bahrain. The ideal candidate will have a strong construction background and hands-on experience in cost estimation, quantity take-offs, BOQ preparation, budgeting, cost monitoring, variations, and commercial cost control. These are common responsibilities for current Bahrain construction cost-control roles.

Key Responsibilities
Prepare detailed cost estimates, BOQs, quantity take-offs, and cost plans.
Review architectural, structural, civil, and MEP drawings and specifications.
Monitor project budgets, expenditures, commitments, and actual costs.
Analyze material, labor, equipment, supplier, and subcontractor costs.
Review and compare supplier and subcontractor quotations.
Conduct site measurements and verify completed quantities.
Monitor project costs against approved budgets and identify potential cost overruns.
Prepare and evaluate variations, change orders, and additional works.
Assist with interim valuations, payment applications, and final accounts.
Prepare monthly cost-control reports, forecasts, and cost reconciliation statements.
Identify cost-saving opportunities and support value-engineering initiatives.
Coordinate with Project Managers, Site Engineers, QS, Procurement, Accounts, subcontractors, and suppliers.
Maintain accurate records of project costs, quantities, variations, and commercial documentation.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree/Diploma in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
3–7 years of relevant experience in construction cost engineering, cost control, quantity surveying, or estimation.
Strong knowledge of BOQs, quantity take-offs, estimation, budgeting, valuations, variations, and final accounts.
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
Good understanding of construction materials, labor rates, and subcontractor pricing.
Strong MS Excel and cost-control/reporting skills.
Knowledge of construction contracts and commercial procedures is an advantage.
Strong analytical, numerical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Bahrain/GCC construction experience is highly preferred.
Experience in building, villa, residential, commercial, or high-rise projects is an advantage.
Must be currently available in Bahrain.
Immediate joiner is highly preferred.
Preferred Candidate

Candidates with practical experience in Bahrain construction projects, particularly in cost estimation, project budgeting, quantity surveying, and commercial cost control, will be given priority.
