Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced Construction Buyer / Purchaser to manage the purchasing of construction materials, tools, equipment, and site requirements. The ideal candidate should have a strong construction background, good knowledge of local suppliers, and experience handling quotations, negotiations, purchase orders, and delivery coordination. These are common requirements in current Bahrain construction procurement roles.

Key Responsibilities
Source and purchase construction materials, tools, equipment, consumables, and site supplies.
Obtain and compare quotations from local suppliers and subcontractors.
Negotiate prices, payment terms, discounts, and delivery schedules.
Prepare and process Purchase Orders (POs/LPOs) and purchase requests.
Coordinate with Project Managers, Engineers, Quantity Surveyors, Site Supervisors, Stores, and Accounts.
Ensure materials are purchased according to approved specifications, quantities, quality, and project requirements.
Follow up with suppliers to ensure timely delivery to construction sites.
Monitor pending orders and provide regular procurement updates.
Maintain supplier databases, quotations, purchase orders, invoices, and delivery records.
Prepare quotation comparison sheets and procurement reports.
Identify alternative suppliers and cost-saving opportunities.
Verify delivered materials against purchase orders and delivery notes.
Build and maintain good relationships with Bahrain-based suppliers.
Resolve issues involving delayed deliveries, incorrect materials, shortages, or damaged items.
Ensure purchasing activities comply with company procedures and project timelines.
Requirements
3–5 years of experience in purchasing/procurement within the construction industry.
Strong knowledge of construction materials, building products, tools, equipment, and site requirements.
Previous experience dealing with Bahrain-based suppliers is highly preferred.
Experience with RFQs, quotation comparisons, POs/LPOs, delivery notes, and invoices.
Strong negotiation and supplier coordination skills.
Good knowledge of MS Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Strong communication, follow-up, and organizational skills.
Ability to handle multiple urgent purchasing requirements and work under pressure.
GCC construction experience is an advantage.
Must be currently available in Bahrain.
Immediate joiner is highly preferred.
Preferred Candidate

Candidates with purchasing experience in construction contractors, civil contractors, fit-out companies, MEP companies, or building material suppliers will be given priority. Practical knowledge of the Bahrain construction market and local supplier network is a strong advantage.
