Job Description

ERA Projects is looking for an experienced Construction Planning & Scheduling Engineer with a strong background in building and construction projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining project schedules, monitoring site progress, identifying delays, and coordinating with project teams to ensure timely completion.

The role requires strong practical knowledge of Primavera P6, construction sequencing, WBS, baseline schedules, critical path analysis, progress tracking, and recovery planning. These are also reflected in current Indeed Bahrain planning-engineering listings.

Key Responsibilities
Develop detailed construction schedules and work programs using Primavera P6.
Prepare WBS based on construction drawings, project scope, and execution requirements.
Establish baseline programs, milestones, activities, and target completion dates.
Monitor actual site progress against the approved baseline schedule.
Collect progress updates from site engineers, supervisors, subcontractors, and project teams.
Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports.
Identify delays, slippages, critical activities, and schedule risks.
Analyze critical path, float, and schedule performance.
Prepare recovery and mitigation programs for delayed activities.
Develop short-term and look-ahead schedules for site execution.
Coordinate construction activities with civil, MEP, procurement, commercial, and subcontractor teams.
Monitor manpower, materials, equipment, and resources against the project schedule.
Update schedules based on actual progress, approved variations, and changes.
Assist in delay analysis and Extension of Time (EOT) claims.
Attend progress meetings and provide clear schedule updates to management.
Maintain accurate planning records, reports, programs, and supporting documentation.
Identify potential schedule risks and recommend corrective actions.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
Minimum 3–5 years of experience in construction planning and scheduling.
Strong experience in building construction projects.
Excellent knowledge of Primavera P6; MS Project is an advantage.
Strong understanding of WBS, baseline programs, critical path, float, and construction sequencing.
Experience in progress monitoring, schedule updating, delay analysis, and recovery planning.
Ability to read and understand construction drawings, BOQs, specifications, and project schedules.
Strong knowledge of construction activities and site execution.
Proficiency in MS Excel and Microsoft Office.
GCC/Bahrain construction experience is highly preferred.
Strong analytical, communication, coordination, and reporting skills.
Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines.
Must be currently located in Bahrain.
Must be available for immediate joining.
Candidates with cancelled/transferable visa or valid local status are preferred.
Ideal Candidate

We are specifically looking for a hands-on construction planning and scheduling professional, not someone whose experience is limited to administrative planning.

The ideal candidate should be confident using Primavera P6, following up with site teams, updating actual progress, identifying critical activities, preparing recovery schedules, and providing accurate reports to project management.
