Job Title: Senior Accountant (Accounting & VAT Services)

We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our growing team.

Role Summary
The Senior Accountant will manage day‑to‑day accounting operations, oversee VAT compliance and filings, prepare accurate financial statements, and support client advisory engagements. This role requires strong technical skills, excellent client communication, and the ability to mentor junior staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage full-cycle accounting for a portfolio of client accounts (general ledger, AR/AP, bank reconciliations, accruals).
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards.
• Lead VAT compliance: prepare VAT returns, maintain VAT records, advise clients on VAT treatment, and support VAT audits.
• Oversee month‑end and year‑end close processes and ensure timely delivery of client deliverables.
• Coordinate and support external audits and statutory filings.
• Provide client advisory on accounting policies, internal controls, and process improvements.
• Review and mentor junior accountants; delegate and quality-check work.
• Ensure compliance with local regulations and company policies.
• Assist in implementation and maintenance of cloud accounting systems and automation tools.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships; act as primary point of contact for assigned clients.



Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Professional qualification (CPA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) preferred.
• Minimum 5 years’ post‑qualification accounting experience, ideally in a firm environment providing outsourced accounting and VAT services.
• Practical experience with Bahrain VAT regulations and VAT return preparation preferred.
• Strong knowledge of accounting standards (IFRS preferred) and best practices.
• Proficient in accounting software and MS Excel; experience with cloud accounting platforms (e.g., Tally, ZohoBooks) is a plus.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and time‑management skills.
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills; Arabic is an advantage.
• Client-focused, professional demeanor, and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
