Role Overview:
The Supervisor at Almoayyed Solar Co. is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities on-site during the installation, commissioning, operation, and maintenance of solar power systems. With 8 years of experience, including 5 years in similar solar or renewable energy projects, the Supervisor will ensure the work is completed safely, on schedule, and in compliance with project specifications and quality standards. The Supervisor will lead and manage teams of technicians, ensuring all work is executed efficiently and effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
Site Supervision:
Supervise daily activities on-site, ensuring the proper installation and maintenance of solar energy systems, including PV modules, inverters, electrical systems, and mechanical components.
Ensure that all work is carried out according to design specifications, safety standards, and quality requirements.
Manage and coordinate on-site teams, subcontractors, and labor to ensure smooth execution of tasks.
Quality Control & Safety Compliance:
Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols and industry standards, conducting regular safety checks and audits to ensure a safe working environment for all team members.
Monitor the quality of workmanship to ensure that all installations and maintenance activities meet the required standards and client specifications.
Identify and address any safety concerns or non-compliance issues promptly, implementing corrective actions as needed.
Resource & Equipment Management:
Ensure that all necessary resources, including tools, equipment, and materials, are available on-site and properly maintained.
Oversee the inventory and use of materials, ensuring that resources are used efficiently to avoid waste and delays.
Coordinate with procurement teams to ensure timely delivery of materials to meet project schedules.
Team Management & Training:
Lead, motivate, and guide a team of technicians, ensuring they are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to carry out tasks safely and efficiently.
Provide on-the-job training and mentoring to junior team members, helping them to develop their skills and understanding of solar system installations and maintenance.
Monitor team performance and provide feedback to ensure continuous improvement.
Project Coordination & Reporting:
Coordinate with the Project Manager or Site Manager to ensure that the project stays on track in terms of schedule, budget, and quality.
Provide daily or weekly progress reports, highlighting completed tasks, any issues encountered, and the next steps.
Assist in tracking project milestones and ensuring that work is completed according to the project timeline.
Troubleshooting & Problem Resolution:
Address and resolve any issues that arise during installation, commissioning, or maintenance activities, escalating complex issues to senior engineers or project managers when necessary.
Support technicians in troubleshooting and resolving problems related to solar system components, electrical systems, or mechanical systems.
Documentation & Compliance:
Ensure that all necessary documentation, including daily logs, work orders, and inspection reports, is accurately maintained and submitted on time.
Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, environmental guidelines, and project specifications.
Client & Stakeholder Communication:
Liaise with clients, project managers, and other stakeholders to ensure that their needs and expectations are met throughout the project.
Communicate effectively with clients regarding project progress, site activities, and any potential delays or issues.
Commissioning & Handover:
Support the commissioning process by ensuring that all installations meet operational standards and client requirements.
Participate in the handover of completed systems to the client, providing necessary documentation and explanations of system operations.
Qualifications & Experience:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field.
Relevant certifications in health and safety, project management, or solar energy systems are a plus.
Experience:
At least 8 years of experience in the construction, installation, or maintenance of solar energy systems, with at least 5 years in a supervisory role within the renewable energy sector.
Proven experience leading teams in the installation and maintenance of solar power systems (PV modules, inverters, electrical systems).
Experience in managing on-site safety, quality control, and coordination of installation or maintenance tasks.
Skills:
Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and supervise a diverse team.
In-depth knowledge of solar energy systems, including installation, operation, and troubleshooting of PV systems, inverters, electrical systems, and other related components.
Excellent communication and coordination skills, with the ability to manage client expectations and collaborate with different project teams.
Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot technical issues on-site.
Proficiency in project management tools, work schedules, and tracking systems.
Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain high-quality standards.
Other Requirements:
Knowledge of relevant health, safety, and environmental standards (e.g., IEC, OSHA, NEC).
Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet project deadlines.
Flexibility to work in different environments, including remote locations or outdoor conditions.
Willingness to travel to project sites as required.
