Build Home Contracting (BHC) is an established Bahrain-based company with more than 10 years of experience across contracting and logistics.
As part of the continued expansion of our contracting division, BHC is seeking a trustworthy, commercially aware and hands-on Civil Projects & Business Development Engineer.
This position combines business development, technical project planning and site execution. The selected candidate will work directly with management and play an important role in generating qualified opportunities and successfully delivering contracting projects.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Business Development and Client Relations
• Identify and pursue suitable contracting opportunities across Bahrain.
• Generate qualified leads and support their conversion into profitable projects.
• Develop professional relationships with contractors, consultants, procurement teams, facility managers, property managers, industrial companies and suppliers.
• Manage vendor registrations, company prequalification submissions, client introductions and business-development follow-ups.
• Follow up with prospective and existing clients after management submits quotations.
• Provide technical clarifications and support management during project discussions and negotiations.
Technical and Pre-Quotation Support
• Conduct site inspections and take accurate measurements.
• Prepare detailed scopes of work, quantity take-offs and BOQs for management review.
• Determine the required labour, materials, equipment, subcontractors and expected project duration.
• Obtain and evaluate technical prices from suppliers and subcontractors where required.
• Provide management with clear technical cost inputs and rate information for quotation preparation.
• Identify potential technical risks, additional requirements and excluded items before pricing.
• Prepare preliminary work programmes and proposed execution methods.
All final pricing, quotations, discounts, invoicing, collections, accounting and financial decisions will be prepared and approved by BHC management.
Project Management and Execution
• Plan and coordinate project mobilisation, labour, subcontractors, materials and suppliers.
• Supervise civil works, renovation, maintenance, finishing, waterproofing and related contracting activities.
• Monitor workmanship, quality, safety, progress and compliance with the approved scope of work.
• Control material usage, labour productivity and site activities to minimise waste and delays.
• Coordinate professionally with clients, consultants, suppliers and subcontractors throughout project execution.
• Resolve technical and site-related issues promptly.
• Identify variations and additional works and provide management with the relevant measurements, quantities, photographs and supporting information.
• Maintain daily site records and provide progress details required by management for milestone invoicing.
• Manage inspections, snagging, project documentation and final handover.
• Submit regular reports covering site progress, operational requirements, client follow-ups and business-development opportunities.
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• Minimum 3 years+ of relevant contracting experience in Bahrain.
• Strong practical knowledge of civil works, renovation, maintenance, finishing and general contracting.
• Good experience in site measurements, BOQ preparation, quantity take-offs, technical cost assessment and project supervision.
• Ability to assess project requirements accurately and provide reliable labour, material and subcontractor information to management.
• Demonstrated ability or strong potential to develop client relationships and generate contracting opportunities.
• Existing professional relationships within Bahrain’s construction, commercial, industrial or facilities-management market are a strong advantage.
• Existing CRPEP registration is not required. BHC will support the selected candidate with registration, subject to eligibility and approval by the relevant authority.
• A valid Bahrain driving licence is required.
• Ownership of a vehicle is not required. A company vehicle or suitable transport support may be provided depending on the selected candidate’s capability and operational requirements.
• Good command of written and spoken English. Arabic and commonly used site languages are advantages.
• Strong integrity, communication, ownership, technical judgement and problem-solving ability.
• Willingness to work both on-site and in the office as part of a growing, hands-on team.
• Candidates must currently reside in Bahrain.
