Assessment & Preparation: Inspect furniture to estimate material costs and labor hours, and carefully strip old upholstery without damaging the frame.Structural Repair: Fix, glue, or replace broken wooden frames, loose joints, and damaged or sagging springs.Patterning & Cutting: Create templates or follow blueprints to accurately measure and cut new fabric, leather, or vinyl.Sewing & Assembly: Operate sewing machines (and hand-sew where necessary) to stitch seams, welts, and piping.Padding & Installation: Apply padding, batting, and underlays before stretching and securing the new cover to the frame using staple guns and tacks.Finishing Touches: Add decorative elements like tufting, fringe, buttons, or brass nails.
