Job Description: Aluminum Fabricator
Position Title: Aluminum Fabricator
Department: Production Department
Reports To: Production Supervisor
Job Purpose
The Aluminum Fabricator is responsible for cutting, drilling, assembling, and finishing aluminum profiles to create high-quality architectural and structural products (such as doors, windows, curtain walls, storefronts, and cladding). This role requires precision, the ability to read technical drawings, and the safe operation of fabrication machinery.

Key Responsibilities
1. Fabrication & Assembly
•Material Preparation: Select, measure, and mark aluminum profiles according to cutting lists and technical blueprints.
•Cutting & Machining: Operate specialized machinery including mitre saws, CNC routers, punch machines, and copy routers to cut and prep profiles accurately.
•Assembly: Assemble fabricated components using mechanical joinery, corner cleats, screws, and structural adhesives.
•Hardware Installation: Fit and install functional hardware such as locks, hinges, friction stays, rollers, handles, and multipoint locking systems.
•Glazing & Sealing: Install rubber gaskets, weatherstripping, and apply structural silicone to ensure airtight and watertight seals.
2. Quality Control & Maintenance
•Inspect finished products against technical shop drawings to ensure exact dimensional tolerances and alignment.
•Identify and report any material defects or surface scratches before components move to the installation or packing stage.
•Perform routine maintenance and cleaning on fabrication machinery, hand tools, and blades.
3. Safety & Workshop Environment
•Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free workstation.
•Adhere strictly to workshop safety guidelines, including the mandatory use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, hearing protection, and safety shoes.
Skills & Qualifications
Technical Competencies
•Blueprint Reading: Strong ability to interpret 2D fabrication drawings, architectural sections, and assembly diagrams.
•Tool Proficiency: Skilled in using hand tools, pneumatic tools, and heavy workshop machinery (e.g., double-mitre saws, crimping machines).
•Mathematical Accuracy: Excellent precise measurement skills (working comfortably with millimeters and geometric angles like 45° and 90° cuts).
•System Knowledge: Familiarity with architectural aluminum architectural systems (e.g., thermal break vs. non-thermal break systems, sliding, casement, and curtain walling).
Soft Skills & Physical Requirements
•High attention to detail and a commitment to quality craftsmanship.
•Strong physical stamina, with the ability to lift and maneuver heavy aluminum profiles and glass units.
•Good teamwork and communication skills to coordinate effectively with the workshop team and supervisors.
Experience Requirements
•Experience: Minimum of 2–3 years of proven experience as an aluminum fabricator within a fenestration or architectural glazing environment.
•Education: Technical school diploma, apprenticeship, or relevant vocational training is highly regarded.
