Hiring: Civil Foreman

Position: Civil Foreman
Experience: 1 year

Civil Foreman – Responsibilities
1) Site Supervision & Execution
Supervise day-to-day execution of civil works on site (earthworks, concrete, drainage, foundations, slabs, etc.).
Coordinate labour and ensure work is carried out as per approved drawings, method statements, and specifications.
Ensure all activities match the approved work plan / schedule and report progress to the engineer.
2) Quality Control at Work Front
Ensure work at the front is compliant with QA/QC requirements (hold points, checklists, ITP).
Verify materials and workmanship quality at the time of execution (base preparation, rebar placement, concrete pouring, curing, etc.).
Rectify defects promptly and support QA/QC in raising NCRs and closing actions.
3) Planning, Coordination & Resources
Manage requirements for:
labour arrangement (mason/bar bender/helper)
equipment (excavator, vibrator, compactor, pumps, etc.)
scaffolding/formwork materials
tools and consumables
Coordinate with other trades (steel erectors, MEP, architects, QA/QC, survey team).
4) Safety & Compliance
Enforce HSE/safety practices: toolbox talks, PPE compliance, permit-to-work where required.
Ensure safe methods for excavation, lifting, concrete works, working at height, and traffic management.
Conduct/participate in safety inspections and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
5) Workmanship & Formwork/Rebar/Concrete Oversight (typical)
Ensure correct installation of formwork and shuttering (stability, alignment, leak-proofing).
Supervise rebar placement (cover blocks, spacing, tying, laps/welds if applicable) and verify against drawings.
Control concrete works:
correct mix/grade confirmation (as per batch records)
proper vibration/compaction
curing method and duration
surface finishing requirements
6) Earthworks & Subgrade/Drainage
Supervise excavation, backfilling, compaction (layer thickness, compaction checks), and reinstatement.
Ensure proper grading/levels for drainage, manholes, channels, and slopes.
Maintain work area cleanliness and manage water (dewatering/pumping if needed).
7) Monitoring, Reports & Communication
Maintain daily records: manpower, progress quantities, delays, issues, and site conditions.
Communicate issues immediately to the engineer/PM:
variation in drawings/BOQ
material shortages
access constraints/weather impacts
inspection failures
8) Materials & Site Resources Handling
Track and verify incoming materials used on site (sand, aggregates, cement, rebar, steel plates, waterproofing, etc.).
Prevent misuse/wastage and coordinate storage and handling to avoid damage.
