Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Estimator specializing in Road Construction and Infrastructure Projects to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, tender submissions, quantity take-offs, and commercial evaluations for roadworks, highways, asphalt paving, earthworks, drainage, and related infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities
Review tender documents, drawings, specifications, and Bills of Quantities (BOQ).
Perform detailed quantity take-offs for road and infrastructure projects.
Prepare comprehensive cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors.
Develop unit rates and pricing schedules for tender submissions.
Obtain and evaluate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
Identify project risks, opportunities, and cost-saving solutions.
Participate in site visits, pre-bid meetings, and tender clarification meetings.
Coordinate with engineering, procurement, planning, and commercial teams during bid preparation.
Ensure compliance with client requirements and tender conditions.
Maintain and update cost databases and historical project records.
Support project teams with budget information and post-award commercial activities.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
Minimum 5 years of experience in construction estimation.
Proven experience in road construction, highways, asphalt paving, earthworks, and infrastructure projects.
Strong knowledge of construction methods, specifications, and industry standards.
Ability to interpret engineering drawings and contract documents.
Experience in preparing competitive tenders for public and private sector projects.
Technical Skills
Quantity Take-Off and Cost Estimation.
BOQ Preparation and Pricing Analysis.
Roadworks, Earthworks, Asphalt, and Drainage Estimation.
Advanced Microsoft Excel Skills.
Experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, CostX, PlanSwift, Candy CCS, or similar estimating software.
Familiarity with Primavera P6 is an advantage.
