INTERNAL AUDITOR – JOB SPECIFICATION
JOB Location : Bahrain
(Bahrain, UAE & Saudi Arabia Operations)

1. Position Overview
We are looking to hire an experienced Internal Auditor to oversee and strengthen internal controls across our trading operations in Bahrain, Dubai (UAE), and Saudi Arabia.
The role will focus on ensuring financial accuracy, compliance, operational efficiency, and risk management.
2. Key Responsibilities

A. Financial & Sales Audit
• Review financial reports and accounting accuracy
• Verify sales transactions, pricing, discounts, and approvals
• Monitor receivables and credit control
B. Procurement & Payables
• Review purchasing procedures and approvals
• Verify supplier payments and detect irregularities
C. Inventory & Warehouse (Critical)
• Conduct physical stock checks and reconciliation
• Review stock movement and controls
• Identify slow-moving or obsolete inventory
D. Cash & Banking
• Review petty cash and bank reconciliations
• Evaluate cash handling procedures
E. Internal Controls
• Assess internal control systems and approval processes
• Ensure segregation of duties
• Recommend improvements
F. Compliance
• Ensure compliance with VAT, tax, and regulatory requirements (Bahrain/UAE/KSA)
• Verify adherence to company policies
G. Risk Management
• Identify and report business risks
• Recommend mitigation actions
H. Operations Review
• Evaluate supply chain and logistics efficiency
• Identify cost-saving opportunities
I. Systems & IT
• Review ERP/system controls and access rights
• Ensure data accuracy
J. Audit Execution & Reporting
• Conduct scheduled and surprise audits
• Prepare reports with findings and recommendations
• Follow up on corrective actions
3. Coverage & Travel
• Responsible for operations in Bahrain, UAE, and Saudi Arabia
• Regular travel required between locations
4. Reporting Structure
• Reports directly to Senior Management / Audit Committee
• Must remain independent from daily operations
5. Qualification & Experience
• CA / CPA / ACCA or equivalent
• Minimum 5–8 years’ experience in internal audit
• Experience in trading / distribution business is essential
• Knowledge of VAT, customs, and regional regulations (GCC)
• Strong understanding of inventory control systems
6. Key Skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• High integrity and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently
• Good communication and reporting skills
7. Deliverables
• Annual Audit Plan
• Quarterly audit reports
• Inventory audit reports
• Risk and control improvement reports
• Action tracking reports
8. Performance Expectations (KPIs)
• Timely completion of audits
• Quality and practicality of recommendations
• Reduction in control gaps and risks
• Accuracy of audit findings
