About the job
Position: Senior Accountant (Bahrain)
Location: Kingdom of Bahrain
Salary Range: 400.000 – 600.000 Bahraini Dinars (per month)
Benefits: Visa and Accommodation

Key Responsibilities:

Accounts Management:
• Oversee the complete accounting cycle, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and general ledger.
• Prepare accurate and timely financial statements in compliance with established guidelines and standards.
Supervision & Leadership:
• Lead and mentor a team of junior accountants and accounting staff, ensuring accurate and efficient accounting practices.
• Conduct regular performance reviews and provide training to enhance the team's capabilities.
Payroll Management:
• Manage payroll processing, ensuring timely and accurate payment to all employees, including compliance with employment laws.
• Oversee employee benefits administration and deductions.
Compliance & Reporting:
• Prepare and file VAT returns in accordance with local regulations; ensure compliance with Bahraini tax laws and accounting standards.
• Coordinate and facilitate internal and external audits, preparing necessary documentation and responses to audit inquiries.
Bank Relations:
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with bank representatives, ensuring effective communication regarding the company's financial needs.
• Assist in loan applications, negotiations, and the management of other banking activities.


Financial Analysis:
• Perform detailed financial analysis and forecasting to support strategic planning and decision-making.
• Provide financial insights and recommendations to management for cost control and revenue enhancement.
Budgeting:
• Assist in the development and monitoring of annual budgets; track variances and report findings to upper management.
• Ensure that spending aligns with budget constraints and financial goals.
Technology Utilisation:
• Utilise advanced Excel functions, Rist, and other accounting platforms for data analysis and financial reporting.
• Implement new software or update existing systems to improve efficiency in accounting processes.
Policy Development:
• Develop and enforce accounting policies and procedures that promote transparency and accuracy in financial reporting.
• Stay updated on best practices and changes in financial regulations and accounting standards.
Consultation & Advisory:
• Act as a financial consultant to various departments, providing advice on the financial implications of projects and initiatives.
• Collaborate with senior management on financial strategy and overall business planning.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
• Minimum 5 to 10 years of experience in a senior accounting role, preferably in the supermarket or real estate sector.
• Strong command of the English language, both written and verbal.
• High proficiency in Excel, Rist, and other accounting software.
Skills:
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong leadership and team management abilities.
