Core Job Responsibilities
Safe Vehicle Operation: Adhering to all traffic laws, speed limits, and safety regulations to ensure the security of passengers, cargo, and the vehicle.
Transportation and Delivery: Transporting people, goods, or equipment to designated locations in a timely manner.
Navigation and Routing: Utilizing GPS systems and mapping tools to plan the most efficient routes and avoid traffic congestion or road construction.
Vehicle Maintenance: Conducting pre- and post-trip inspections, ensuring proper fuel levels, and arranging for repairs or routine maintenance (e.g., oil changes, tire checks).
Loading and Unloading: Safely loading, securing, and unloading cargo to prevent damage, often requiring the ability to lift heavy items.
Documentation and Record Keeping: Maintaining accurate logs of mileage, fuel consumption, and trip details, as well as handling delivery paperwork or receipts.
Customer Service: Interacting with passengers or clients in a professional, courteous manner.
Common Requirements
Licensing: A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Physical Stamina: Capability to sit for long periods and lift heavy objects, sometimes up to 70 pounds.
Knowledge: Familiarity with local routes, traffic patterns, and navigation apps.
Flexibility: Availability to work weekends, nights, or long, irregular hours.
