Description

A packer is responsible for efficiently preparing, securing, and labeling products for shipment or storage within a warehouse or manufacturing setting. Key duties include inspecting items for defects, selecting appropriate packaging materials, verifying order accuracy, maintaining safety standards, and documenting inventory to ensure timely, damage-free, and compliant delivery.
Key Packing Job Responsibilities:
Order Fulfillment & Preparation: Review packing lists, select, pack, and seal items, and arrange products in shipping containers securely.
Quality Control & Inspection: Examine products for damage, defects, or faults before packing, and remove defective items.
Labeling & Documentation: Label packages with accurate shipping information and maintain records of materials, invoices, and, when applicable, inventory counts.
Warehouse Maintenance & Safety: Maintain a clean, organized work area and operate machinery (e.g., pallet jacks, scanners) while adhering to health and safety regulations.
Handling & Loading: Safely move products using equipment like forklifts and assist in loading packaged goods onto shipping containers or vehicles.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy objects.
Attention to Detail: Ensuring the correct items are packed and labeled for the right customer.
Time Management: Meeting daily production quotas in a fast-paced environment.
Communication & Technical Skills: Basic literacy for reading orders and computer proficiency for scanning or inventory tracking.
