MEP Supervisor – Construction (Job Description)

The MEP Supervisor oversees and coordinates all Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing activities on the construction site. The role ensures that MEP works are executed according to approved drawings, specifications, safety standards, and project timelines. The position requires strong technical knowledge and the ability to manage manpower and subcontractors effectively.

Key Responsibilities
1. Site Supervision & Execution

Supervise and monitor daily HVAC, electrical, plumbing, drainage, firefighting, and low-voltage works.

Ensure all installations follow approved shop drawings, method statements, and project specifications.

Conduct regular site inspections to check quality and progress.

Coordinate with mechanical, electrical, and plumbing teams to ensure smooth execution.

2. Coordination & Communication

Coordinate with civil, structural, and finishing teams to avoid clashes or rework.

Liaise with subcontractors and ensure timely completion of MEP activities.

Coordinate with QA/QC and consultants for inspections and approvals (IR/MIR).

Provide technical assistance to site staff when required.

3. Material & Resource Management

Monitor material availability and raise material requests as needed.

Ensure materials delivered to site comply with approved specifications.

Manage MEP manpower allocation and productivity.

4. Quality Assurance & Safety

Ensure all MEP works meet quality standards and project requirements.

Identify defects, unsafe practices, and take corrective actions immediately.

Ensure use of PPE and compliance with site safety rules.

Report any unsafe conditions to the safety team.

5. Testing, Commissioning & Handover

Assist in testing and commissioning of MEP systems.

Prepare snag lists and ensure timely rectification.

Support the preparation of as-built drawings and handover documentation.

6. Reporting & Documentation

Prepare daily progress reports and manpower reports.

Maintain logs for inspections, materials, and completed works.

Report regularly to the MEP Engineer/Project Manager on site progress and issues.

Skills & Qualifications

Diploma or Certificate in Mechanical, Electrical, or MEP Engineering.

4–7 years of experience supervising MEP works in construction projects.

Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, firefighting, and ELV systems.

Ability to read and interpret MEP drawings and technical documents.

Good communication, leadership, and coordination skills.

Basic computer skills (MS Office; AutoCAD is an advantage).
