Description

A mini bus driver's responsibilities include safely transporting passengers, adhering to traffic laws, and performing pre-trip vehicle inspections and basic maintenance. Safety and passenger care
Safely transport passengers on scheduled routes, adjusting for traffic and weather conditions.
Ensure all passengers wear seatbelts.
Enforce rules to maintain discipline and order on the bus.
Assist passengers, especially those with disabilities, with boarding and exiting.
Monitor the welfare, safety, and comfort of all passengers at all times.
Report accidents or defects immediately to the appropriate supervisor.
Ensure the vehicle is secure when parked and stored.
Vehicle maintenance and inspection
Perform daily pre-trip safety checks of the vehicle.
Report any maintenance or repair issues to the designated person.
Ensure the vehicle is clean, presentable, and refueled as needed.
Ensure the first aid box is up-to-date and stocked.
Make sure the required number of seats and any wheelchair restraints are in place and secure for the journey.
Operations and compliance
Adhere to all state and federal transit regulations and traffic laws.
Maintain accurate records of vehicle usage and passengers.
Follow scheduled routes and inform passengers or parents of any changes or delays.
Collect fares and issue change, if applicable.
Attend required safety meetings and training.
