The Role: Commis Chef – Cake Production & Assembly (Entry-Level)

As a Commis Chef, you’ll support our pastry team with the production of fillings, creams, sponges, and the delicate process of assembling and layering cakes, all while growing your skills in a fast-paced, high-standard kitchen.

The Work You’ll Do:
This isn’t just prep work — this is foundation work. You'll assist in creating smooth, flawless creams, whipping fillings to perfection, and layering cakes with precision and love. From measuring and mixing to assembling cakes ready for decoration, your attention to detail will help ensure every product meets the standards that define Loje.
You’ll be trained and supported to:
• Prepare daily batches of creams, mousses, fillings, and sponges
• Assist with cake assembly (layering, leveling, simple syruping)
• Support and prep for our lead decorators
• Maintain a clean and organized station according to food safety standards
• Label, date, and store all prep ingredients and components correctly
• Communicate clearly with the head chef and decorating team to keep production flowing
