Reports to: Lead Academic Guide / Class Facilitator Start Date: 1 August 2025 Location: Bahrain, Bahrain Contract Type: Local hire, permanent, full time Salary: TBC based on experience
Role Summary As an Arabic Teaching Assistant, you will support our Arabic language programme by assisting academic guides in delivering immersive and learner-responsive Arabic instruction. You will play a key role in nurturing language acquisition, cultural appreciation, and confident communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

● Provide one-on-one or small group support to learners in Arabic language activities
● Assist in preparing Arabic learning resources and culturally relevant materials
● Support classroom routines that promote bilingual confidence and curiosity
● Reinforce respectful communication in both Arabic and English
● Monitor language development progress and communicate areas of concern
● Help maintain a safe, engaging, and language-rich environment
Essential Qualifications & Experience
● Relevant teaching assistant certification or experience in an Arabic language learning environment
● Proficiency in Modern Standard Arabic and spoken dialect (preferably Gulf)
● Basic proficiency in English (spoken and written)
● Familiarity with student-centred and language immersion approaches
Desirable
● Background in early years, special education, or language acquisition
● Experience with British curriculum and/or Arabic language learning technologies
Personal Attributes
● Calm, patient, and encouraging in a language learning context
● Culturally aware and passionate about Arabic language and heritage
● Flexible, proactive, and committed to child development and bilingual education
