Key Performance Areas - Boat Captain/Driver
? Experience within the Maritime sector and technical knowledge of the boat required to be a successful Captain as is an in-depth understanding of tides and navigation and effect of weather condition.
? To have a thorough knowledge of other departments and hotel facilities
? Provide a friendly, courteous and professional service at all times.
? Responsible for the safe operation of their boat and guests and ensure that it is operated and crewed according to both company and legal guidelines.
? Ensure that your assigned boat is kept perfect and clean at all times by washing both the inside and outside
? Must investigate any damage to the vessel, personal injuries to both crew and guests and the environmental effects of the boat such as jetty etc. and inform manager/supervisor accordingly.
? Maintain the boats’ certificates and documentation
? Precisely complete and file all paperwork required for the conveyance of merchandise and people
? Ensure timely conveyance of staff and materials to and from places as instructed by Head of Department, Admin Manager, or Company Management
? Must maintain all onboard equipment including machinery, engines and safety equipment with regular inspection.
? Must navigate boat using navigational equipment in the best safety routine as health and safety of your boat/guests is the most significant task.
? Ensure all the machinery, engines and all safety equipment are inspected prior to any trips.
? Must supply and load fuel/water and necessary equipment before departure.
? Must have particular attention on passenger’s equipment such as baggage, clothes etc. and must answer any questions that guests may ask.
? Keep all records, including receipts for boat maintenance and file them in a professional and organized manner
? Keep up a travel log to record areas travelled to, travel time, and work hours
? Report for duty punctually, maintaining a high standard of personal grooming, wearing correct uniform and name tag at all times.
? Give boat briefing and safety instructions to the guests on each transfer.
? Carry out other reasonable duties, as requested by management.
