Job Title: Structural Design Speacilist
Location: Bahrain
Reports To: Technical/Opreations Manager
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Structural Design Speacilist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and optimizing solar mounting structures and civil foundations, ensuring compliance with relevant standards. The role also involves attending client meetings to address design-related issues and collaborating with cross-functional teams for seamless project execution.
Key Responsibilities:
• Design and optimize a variety of solar mounting structures, including ground-mounted and rooftop systems, rafters, purlins, steel posts, base plates, stiffeners, and anchor bolts.
• Engineer and design robust civil foundations for solar installations, tailored to site-specific conditions and project requirements.
• Conduct structural analysis using advanced engineering software to ensure safety and durability, including bending moment, shear force, deflection, stress analysis, buckling, and overturning checks.
• Perform site assessments to evaluate structural conditions, soil properties, and other relevant factors for optimal design.
• Prepare detailed technical documentation, including structural drawings, calculations, and specifications for mounting structures and foundations.
• Collaborate with project managers, electrical engineers, and construction teams to ensure the timely and successful completion of projects.
• Implement quality control measures to meet design standards, construction specifications, and safety regulations.
• Ensure compliance with local regulations and international standards, including seismic and wind load requirements.
• Stay updated on advancements in solar technology and structural engineering, incorporating innovative solutions into designs.
• Attend client meetings to discuss, present, and resolve design-related concerns or issues.
Qualifications:
• Education: M.Tech in Structural Engineering or B.E. in Civil Engineering.
• Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in structural design, including solar mounting structures and foundation designs.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D & 3D), STAAD Pro, Etabs, and other relevant software. Knowledge of international standards like IEC, ASCE, BS, and EU is essential.
• Soft Skills: Strong communication, problem-solving, negotiation, and time management skills.
• Licenses: Valid driving license is a plus.
Preferred Experience:
• Experience with structural design in renewable energy projects.
• Familiarity with drafting shop drawings and creating 2D/3D sketches.
• Hands-on experience with quality control, site assessments, and construction supervision.
