Salary: BHD300 - BHD 600.000 BASED ON EXPERIENCE

1. Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and detail - oriented Clearance Officer/Coordinator with in - depth knowledge of Bahrain's local customs clearance operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and compliant movement of imported goods through Bahrain's customs procedures. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of Harmonized System (HS) codes, as well as the necessary documentation and requirements for each imported product.

2. Key Responsibilities
Customs Clearance Operations
• Execute customs clearance procedures for imported goods in Bahrain in accordance with local regulations and best practices. This includes preparing and submitting all required customs documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
• Liaise with customs authorities, freight forwarders, and other relevant parties to resolve any customs - related issues promptly.
• Monitor the status of customs clearance for each shipment and provide regular updates to the internal team and clients.
HS Code Classification and Documentation
• Classify imported goods correctly according to Bahrain's HS code system. Ensure that the HS code assigned to each product is in line with its characteristics and applicable regulations.
• Identify and gather all the necessary documentation and other requirements for each imported product. This may include certificates of origin, quality certificates, import licenses, etc.
• Maintain an up - to - date database of HS codes, documentation requirements, and any changes in Bahrain's import regulations.
Compliance and Risk Management
• Ensure full compliance with Bahrain's customs laws, regulations, and policies. Stay informed of any changes in the regulatory environment and implement necessary adjustments to the clearance process.
• Conduct regular internal audits to identify and mitigate any potential customs - related risks. Develop and implement strategies to minimize customs duties and fees while remaining compliant.

3. Required Skills and Qualifications
Experience
• Minimum of 2 years of proven experience in customs clearance operations in Bahrain.
• Demonstrated expertise in handling the full range of customs procedures, from documentation preparation to final release of goods.
Knowledge
• In - depth knowledge of Bahrain's HS code system and its application to imported goods is a MUST.
• Familiarity with the documentation and other requirements such as testing report/local approval etc, for various imported products in Bahrain is a MUST. This includes knowledge of different types of certificates, licenses, and other regulatory documents, and understand which department of the government to approach or engage.
Language Proficiency
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken. English is the primary language for communication in this role, as it is used for interacting with international partners, customs authorities, and internal teams.
• Proficiency in Arabic is a PLUS. It will be beneficial for communicating with local suppliers, some customs officials, and other stakeholders in Bahrain.
