Description

The Marine Mason is responsible for constructing, repairing, and maintaining masonry structures on marine vessels and facilities. This includes work on bulkheads, flooring, walls, and other structural elements. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in masonry, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work in diverse and challenging conditions.

 Construct and repair masonry structures such as bulkheads, floors, and walls on marine vessels and facilities.
 Mix mortar or grout and spread it on surfaces to be bonded.
 Cut, shape, and dress materials to specified dimensions using hand and power tools.
 Lay and align bricks, tiles, concrete blocks, and other masonry units.
 Inspect and replace damaged structures and fixtures.
 Interpret blueprints, sketches, and building plans to meet project specifications.
 Ensure compliance with safety regulations and procedures.
 Work closely with other tradesmen and marine engineers to complete projects.
 Maintain a clean and safe work environment.

 High school diploma or equivalent.
 Proven experience as a mason, preferably in a marine setting.
 Strong knowledge of masonry techniques, tools, and materials.
 Ability to read and interpret technical documents and blueprints.
 Excellent hand-eye coordination and physical condition.
 Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
 Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
 Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices in masonry.
 Willingness to work in varying conditions and locations, including onboard ships.
