Job Title: Senior / Chief Accountant
Location: Bahrain
Industry: Food & Beverage (Restaurants & Coffee Shop)
Reporting to: Finance Manager / General Manager

Job Summary:

The Senior / Chief Accountant will oversee the financial operations of the company’s two restaurants and coffee shop, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with local regulations, and efficient financial management. The role involves managing accounting functions, budgeting, cost control, and financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Management & Reporting:
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Ensure compliance with Bahrain’s accounting standards and tax regulations.
• Conduct financial analysis and provide insights on business performance.
• Monitor cash flow, bank reconciliations, and financial forecasts.

Cost Control & Budgeting:
• Develop and manage budgets for each business unit.
• Analyze food and beverage costs, labor expenses, and operational expenditures.
• Implement cost-saving measures while maintaining product quality.
• Work closely with procurement to optimize purchasing and inventory management.

Accounts Payable & Receivable:
• Manage supplier payments and ensure timely settlements.
• Oversee customer invoicing, collections, and reconciliation.
• Monitor and control petty cash transactions.

Taxation & Compliance:
• Ensure timely VAT filing and compliance with Bahrain tax laws.
• Maintain accurate financial records for audit purposes.
• Coordinate with external auditors for annual financial audits.

Payroll & HR Coordination:
• Process employee salaries, benefits, and gratuity payments.
• Ensure compliance with Bahrain’s labor laws regarding payroll.

Qualifications & Skills:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting, with at least 2/3 years in the F&B industry.
• Strong knowledge of Bahrain’s financial regulations, VAT, and tax laws.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Tally).
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work under pressure.
