Position Overview: accountant will be responsible for managing all financial records and accounts, preparing financial statements, ensuring compliance with laws and regulations, and providing accurate financial information to support business decision-making. - Maintaining General Ledgers: Recording all transactions in the general ledger.
- Journals and Entries: Preparing and posting journal entries for business transactions.
- Account Reconciliation: Regularly reconciling accounts to ensure accuracy, such as reconciling bank statements, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
- Preparation of Financial Statements: Preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, such as income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Managing Payables: Overseeing the accounts payable process, ensuring all vendor invoices are recorded and paid on time.
- Managing Receivables: Ensuring that customer payments are collected, recorded, and processed in a timely manner.
- Tax Compliance: Ensuring the business complies with all tax laws and regulations (e.g., income tax, sales tax, VAT).
- Audit Preparation: Assisting with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
- Payroll Management: Overseeing the payroll process to ensure employees are paid accurately and on time.
- Deductions and Benefits: Ensuring proper deductions for taxes, insurance, and retirement plans, and ensuring compliance with employment laws.
- Accounting Software: Using accounting software (e.g., Tally and Accurate) to manage financial records and reporting.
- Supervising Junior Staff: Overseeing the work of junior accountants or accounting assistants, providing guidance and support.
- Collaboration: Working with other departments (e.g., sales, operations, HR & Admin) to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance.
Job Requirements
o Bachelor's or Master’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field preferred.
o CPA / ACCA / will be preferred.
o At least five years of experience in similar role.
o Working knowledge of basic accounting principles and practices.
o Working knowledge of relevant state, federal, and local regulations.
o Proficiency in Tally & Accqrate accounting software.
o Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
o Ability to work under pressure.
o Excellent organizational skills.
