Job Overview:
We are looking for a Quantity Surveyor with GCC experience to join our construction team. The Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for managing all costs related to construction projects, from initial estimates to final accounts. The role includes cost planning, budget management, contract administration, and ensuring project costs remain within budget while meeting quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
• Cost Planning and Management: Develop cost estimates and budgets for projects, monitor expenses, and ensure project costs remain within the approved budget.
• Quantity Takeoff: Perform detailed quantity take-offs from construction drawings and specifications to calculate materials and labor requirements.
• Contract Administration: Prepare, review, and manage contracts with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers, including handling variations, extensions, and claims.
• Valuation and Payment Applications: Prepare monthly valuations, process interim payments, and ensure accurate and timely invoicing.
• Risk Assessment: Identify potential risks to project costs and implement contingency measures as necessary.
• Change Order Management: Review and manage variations and change orders, negotiating with clients and subcontractors as required.
• Cost Reporting: Prepare and submit regular cost reports, including projections, cash flow, and financial summaries to project stakeholders.
• Final Accounts: Oversee the preparation and settlement of final accounts upon project completion.
• Compliance and Standards: Ensure that all work complies with legal, contractual, and industry standards.
Qualifications:
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in quantity surveying for construction projects.
• Certifications: RICS or equivalent certification is advantageous.
Skills and Competencies:
• Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with quantity surveying software (e.g., CostX, Bluebeam) and strong Excel skills.
• Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze data, interpret project requirements, and create accurate cost estimates.
• Negotiation and Communication: Strong negotiation skills for handling change orders and excellent communication for client and subcontractor interactions.
• Detail-Oriented: High attention to detail, ensuring accurate measurements and cost analysis.
• Budgeting and Financial Management: Strong financial acumen to manage costs, assess profitability, and maintain budgets effectively.
• Problem-Solving: Ability to address and resolve contractual and budget-related issues effectively.
• Time Management: Excellent time management skills, capable of handling multiple projects and tasks within deadlines.
Additional Requirements:
• Flexibility: Willingness to visit project sites as required.
• Driver’s License: Valid license for site visits and client meetings.
