Description

The Accountant will be responsible for managing the financial operations of Amalfi Foods, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards and regulations. This role requires a detail-oriented individual who can handle various financial tasks, including bookkeeping, financial reporting, budgeting, and cost analysis, while working closely with other departments to support the company’s financial health.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Record Keeping:
Maintain and update the company’s general ledger, ensuring accurate recording of all financial transactions.
Process accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments and invoicing.
Reconcile bank statements and manage cash flow on a regular basis.
Maintain accurate and organized financial records in compliance with local and industry regulations.

Financial Reporting:
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
Assist in the preparation of financial forecasts and budgets, ensuring alignment with the company's goals.
Provide financial analysis and reports to management to support decision-making.

Cost Accounting:
Monitor and analyze production costs, including raw materials, labor, and overhead, to ensure accurate cost allocations.
Work with production and procurement teams to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve profitability.
Maintain the cost accounting system and ensure accurate cost reporting for products.

Budgeting and Forecasting:
Assist in the development of the annual budget and financial forecasts for the factory.
Monitor actual expenditures against budgeted amounts and report on variances.
Provide recommendations to management on improving cost efficiency and budgeting practices.

Tax Compliance:
Ensure timely and accurate filing of all tax returns and compliance with local tax regulations.
Assist in preparing for audits and liaising with external auditors as needed.

Inventory Management:
Work closely with the inventory management team to monitor stock levels and ensure accurate valuation of inventory.
Conduct periodic physical inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies with financial records.

Payroll Management:
Process and manage payroll, ensuring compliance with labor laws and internal policies.
Ensure accurate and timely payment of employee salaries and benefits.

Compliance and Internal Controls:
Ensure adherence to accounting principles, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
Implement and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard the company’s assets.

Support for Other Departments:
Collaborate with other departments, including production, procurement, and sales, to provide financial insights and support business operations.
Assist in special projects and financial analysis as required by management.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
A minimum of 4 years of experience in accounting, preferably within the food manufacturing or FMCG industry.
Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and cost accounting.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Odoo, QuickBooks, SAP, or other relevant systems) and MS Excel.
Excellent analytical skills with a keen eye for detail.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge of tax regulations and compliance requirements in the food manufacturing industry is a plus.
Professional certifications (e.g., CPA, CMA) are preferred but not required.

Working Conditions:

Full-time position based in Bahrain
Office environment with occasional visits to production areas.
