Job Description:
As Site Civil Engineer, you are to advice in the planning, co-ordination and supervision of technical aspects of construction projects. Your role is vital to a construction project: you have a number of responsibilities including solving technical issues, providing advice, management and preparing reports.

Responsibilities and duties, includes but not limited to:
• Overseeing building work.
• Undertaking surveys.
• Plan the work and efficiently organize the plant and site facilities in order to meet agreed deadlines.
• Manage, monitor and interpret the contract design documents supplied by the client or architect.
• Checking technical designs and drawings and quantities for accuracy of calculations and to ensure that they are followed correctly.
• Preparing site reports and filling in other paperwork.
• Liaising with quantity surveyors about the ordering and negotiating the price of materials.
• Oversee the selection and requisition of materials.
• Agree a price for materials and make cost-effective solutions and proposals for the intended project.
• Ensure that all materials used, and work performed are in accordance with the specifications, budgets or timescales.
• Liaising with subcontractors, other professional staff, other consultants, supervisors, planners, quantity surveyors, the overall project manager and the general workforce involved in the project.
• Liaise with the local authority (where appropriate to the project) to ensure compliance with local construction regulations and by-laws.
• Communicate with clients and their representatives (architects, engineers and surveyors), including attending regular meetings to keep them informed of progress.
• Day-to-day management of the site, including supervising and monitoring the site labour force and the work of any subcontractors.
• Oversee quality control and health and safety matters on site.
• Providing technical advice and solving problems on site.
