Description

Cost Estimation and Budgeting: Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates, considering materials, labor, and equipment required for the project. Develop and monitor budgets throughout the project lifecycle.

Contract Management: Review and negotiate contracts with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders. Administer contract terms, variations, and claims. Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and manage any disputes that may arise.

Quantity Takeoff and Measurement: Perform quantity takeoffs from architectural and engineering drawings. Prepare bills of quantities and schedules of rates for pricing and tendering purposes.

Cost Control and Monitoring: Implement effective cost control measures to track project expenses, analyze cost variances, and forecast final costs. Identify areas for cost savings and provide recommendations to project stakeholders.

Procurement and Tendering: Lead procurement activities, including the preparation of tender documents, evaluation of bids, and selection of subcontractors and suppliers. Negotiate favorable terms and conditions to achieve project objectives.

Risk Management: Identify and assess project risks related to cost, contracts, and procurement. Develop risk mitigation strategies and monitor their implementation throughout the project.

Quantity Surveying Reports: Prepare accurate and timely reports on project costs, financial forecasts, and progress. Communicate effectively with project teams, management, and clients regarding project financial status.

Team Leadership and Mentoring: Provide guidance and support to junior quantity surveyors or other team members. Share knowledge and expertise to foster professional development within the team.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, preferably in a senior or leadership role.
In-depth knowledge of construction contracts, procurement processes, and cost management principles.
Proficiency in using quantity surveying software and other relevant tools.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in cost calculations and reporting.
