Description

We looking to hire an experienced Corporate Controller to join the team, lead finance efforts on behalf of the company, and assist in the acceleration of growth. A minimum of 8 years of experience in accounting with a proven track record of success is required in addition to 5 years of successful supervisory experience. Due to the collaborative nature of the company and the importance of working well with other departments, strong people skills are needed for this position. An accounting degree is required.

Position Summary:

This position is directly responsible for ensuring profit benchmarks, set in the strategic planning process, are achieved. The Controller directly manages the accounting department, liaises with the senior management team on key financial matters and works closely with other departments in assisting them with their financial needs.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Lead and manage the accounting department, as the Chief Financial Officer

• Setup the finance and accounting department
• Prepare monthly management reports such as Balance sheet/Trial balance and P/L
• Manage the accounts payable and receivable
• Provide guidance on recommended capital purchases
• Work with and through other departments on assisting with their financial needs
• Participate in strategic planning process
• Manage and overlook the Accounts and Administration Department
• Foster and support the company culture
• Provide the leadership and direction necessary to sustain the company’s growth.


Qualifications:

• Degree in accounting.
• 8 or more years of successful accounting experience with a proven track record of success in a construction company.
• 5 or more years of successful supervisory experience leading and managing an accounting and administration team.
• A thorough understanding of the construction industry – with preference given to those with civil construction experience and expertise.
• Stellar people skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent computer skills, with a sound working knowledge of Tally accounting system, the Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word). Advanced capabilities with Microsoft Excel preferred.
